We stayed for about 40 minutes. Wasn’t worth the pain in the ass.

Good to see some CSS hacking :). It does a site:-query, so it only returns results for your site. I like how you added a search box below it on your 404 page.

To find the right HTML elements, I usually use FireBug, it’s much easier than hacking with JavaScript (I know, sometimes it’s more fun to take the hard road :-)).
